Police have ended their search for a mother and daughter who went missing from the borough last week.

Thandiwe Komba Kanyanta, 12, was last seen on Tuesday, July 18, with her mother, 30-year-old Chileshe Wendy Kanyanta.

The mother and daughter live together in Bexley, and police had feared the two had travelled to Liverpool.

Concern had grown for Thandiwe’s welfare as police spent days searching for her and her mother.

But on Sunday, Met Police announced the pair had been found safe and well.

Officers thanked the public for their assistance.
