Christ the King St Mary’s sixth form was visited by US ambassador
Sidcup students from St Mary’s, part of Christ the King sixth form college were given the opportunity to voice their concerns on international events and foreign policy with a global specialist - US ambassador Matthew Barzun.
Students had the chance to draw comparisons between the UK and the US, the US ambassador was told by the students that 98 per cent of them felt emergency medical care was better in the UK, and ethnic minorities were better provided for this side of the pond.
The sixth formers were also given a chance to put across their biggest concerns about the US through drawings.
Almost half of the students drew pictures of black males being shot or scenes relating to guns or lack of gun control.
Mr Barzun invited the students to stay in touch with him, offering his email address and Twitter account.
