Veteran cop charged over 1,500kg cocaine conspiracy

A FORMER detective sergeant was charged with conspiracy to supply 400 million Euros worth of cocaine alongside two other men.

A FORMER detective sergeant was charged with conspiracy to supply 400 million Euros worth of cocaine alongside two other men.

Michael Daly, 49, of no fixed abode, was arrested on Monday in connection with the seizure of 1,554kg of cocaine off the coast of Dunlough Bay, in Cork, Ireland, in July 2007.

He is due to appear at Blackfriars Crown Court or the Old Bailey on August 7.

Alan Roger Wells, 55, of Blenheim Road, Sidcup, and John Gary Edney, 57, of East Hill, South Darenth, were charged with conspiracy to supply last Thursday.

The pair are due to appear at Blackfriars Crown Court or the Old Bailey on August 11. All three were remanded in custody.
