Do you recognise this man? Police would like to speak with him

Bexley police have issued CCTV footage of a man they would like to identify and speak with in connection with theft.

The incident shown took place in Sainsbury’s supermarket, Avenue Road, Bexleyheath on April 7.

The male in question was challenged by staff after being caught stealing meat from the displays.

Following this he became verbally abusive and aggressive towards those confronting him, and a member of the public had to intervene.

A struggle then continued in the entrance of the premise, preventing others from going in, or leaving. The suspect ended up on the floor, before getting up and continuing with his verbal abuse towards the member of the public.

It has not been reported whether anyone was injured in the disagreement.

Officers would like anyone with any relevant information, or an idea of who the suspect is, to call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, or police on 101.
