DOCTORS have warned residents to be wary of spreading a winter virus.

DOCTORS have warned residents to be wary of spreading a winter virus.

Norovirus, known as winter vomiting disease, can affect people of all ages and typically induces vomiting and diarrhoea.

Primary Care Trusts have warned residents who might be carrying the virus to steer clear of public places including schools and hospitals to avoid an 'outbreak'.

Dr Rachel Heathcock from the South East London Health Protection Unit said: "We are already seeing cases of norovirus locally. It is important to be vigilant and good hygiene is essential in preventing yourself or others from picking up the infection.
