AN association for the blind is organising a sponsored walk to celebrate 90 years of supporting sight impaired people.

The Kent Association for the blind (KAB) in Bexley has organised the event which is due to take place on June 27.

Ninety walkers are expected to take part, celebrating every year they have been running.

The walk will begin at 10 am at Shorne Wood Country Park, Gravesend.

Viv Howie, Volunteer Coordinator at KAB Bexley, said: "We are so proud of KAB and all it does for people with sight loss, both in the Bexley area and across the rest of Kent.

"We couldn't let its 90th birthday go unmarked, as staff, volunteers and service users all want to join in the celebration.

"We always need money to help our valuable and flexible services continue, so we thought an inclusive sponsored walk of varying distances would be something that all our supporters could participate in, and could raise money for the charity too."

Contact 01322 344806 or email Viv at: vivien.howie@inspirecommunitytrust.org for a sponsorship form.
