Kent could see 25-30mm of rain in just an hour and as much as 50mm in three hours. Lightning and hail are also a risk.

The Met Office have also issed a yellow warning for flooding.

However, as with any showery situation some places will see the heavy or intense showers while many places could remain completely dry.

A spokesperson for Kent County Council transport team, said: “Although the warning continues through Thursday night the worst of the showers look like clearing to the north by early Thursday afternoon with sunny spells and only isolated showers following from the south. Temperatures are expected to be in the mid to high-20 degrees celsius, possibly exceeding 30 in places.”
