Welling United were held to a 1-1 draw at Conference South Tonbridge Angels last night (July 16).

Last season’s top scorer Ross Lafayette gave the Wings the lead in the first half.

But Tonbridge equalised in the second period through Luke Blewden, and Welling then squandered a great chance to claim a win.

Joe Healy missed a penalty after Kurtis Guthrie was brought down in the area.

In a busy week the Wings travel to Thamesmead Town tomorrow night (July 18), before heading to Margate on Saturday and Maidstone next Tuesday.
