A 34-year-old man from Welling was arrested this morning, November 20, on suspicion of violent disorder and criminal damage.

The man has been arrested on suspicion of attempting to punch Crystal Palace’s mascot - Kayla, an American bald-eagle.

He remains in custody at a south London police station.

Police arrested six people across London and Kent on Wednesday, November 18, in connection with disorder both inside and outside Selhurst Park on September 23 during a Capital One Cup match between Crystal Palace and Charlton Athletic.

One man has been charged and five bailed while enquiries are ongoing.
