A Welling man denied murdering a BBC lighting expert in Bexley today

Paul Gunner died while celebrating his thirty-second birthday in the early hours of October 16 on Bexley High Street last year.

Mr Gunner, from Slade Green, was an electrical rigger for shows including Strictly Come Dancing and Later with Jools Holland.

Ben Worden, 32, of Wickham Street, spoke only to confirm his identity and entered a not guilty plea to murder in a brief hearing at the Inner London Crown Court, Southwark.

The trial will start at the same court on September 10.
