Welling United will play either Lincoln City or Plymouth Argyle in the second round of the FA Cup, after beating Luton 2-1 on Saturday.

The visitors at Park View Road came into the game on the back of a nine-game unbeaten run, but were toppled by Jamie Day’s men - who sit eighth in the Conference.

Lee Clarke’s close-range effort opened the scoring for Welling just before the 30 minute mark, with Joe Healy doubling the lead a minute before half-time.

The Hatters were given a glimmer of hope by Paul Benson after 57 minutes, but John Still’s side failed to find an equaliser.

The second round matches will be played on the weekend of December 7.

Welling return to league action on Saturday, hosting Nuneaton after a mid-week tie away at Edgar Davids’ Barnet on Tuesday night.
