A MAN found dead four years ago has still not been identified.

The white man aged between 45 and 60 was found near Ray Lamb Way in Erith on New Year's Day, 2005.

He was thought to have been sleeping rough and was found wearing several layers of clothes including blue trainers, brown trousers, a blue cardigan and an orange padded jacket.

His teeth were in a bad condition with many missing.

He was approximately 5ft 7ins, of medium build with brown and greying hair and had a full beard.

Charity Missing People has checked their missing person's records for clues but no conclusive match has been made.

Head of Missing People's Identification department, Teri Blythe said: "In most cases an unidentified person is also a missing person, so it is likely that this man will have family and friends out there who do not know their fate.

"We need some vital clues that will lead us to identify this body and put an end to someone's distress."
