OLDER residents who have not claimed their Winter Fuel Payment may be missing out on hundreds of pounds.

Age Concern Bexley say over-60-year-olds not receiving a pension can still apply for the £200 grant before the final deadline on Sunday.

All over-60s receiving a state pension automatically receive the payment, and over-80s get £300.

Next year the payments will rise to £250 and £400 respectively.

To apply for the payment call the Winter Fuel Payment helpline between 8.30am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday on 08459 151 515 or visit www.direct.gov.uk.
