Woman rescued from Erith bungalow blaze taken to hospital

Fire broke out on Friday

Fire fighters rescued a woman from a burning bungalow on Friday.

Crews were called to the scene in Barnehurst Avenue just after 4pm yesterday.

On arrival, crews discovered the woman from the front room of the property, while the fire had burned through around half of the bungalow’s kitchen.

The woman was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service suffering from smoke inhalation.

Crews from Erith, east Greenwichand Plumstead fire stations had the fire under control just after 5pm.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
