Women and children escape fire in Thamesmead flat

The fire started on Monday night

A fire has left part of a fourth floor flat in Thamesmead badly damaged after starting last night (Monday).

Two women and three children left the property before London Fire Brigade arrived on scene.

The blaze had started on the balcony of the property, which LFB said was ‘badly damaged’ in the fire.

More than 20 firefighters were on scene, with the cause of the fire now under investigation.

There were no reported injuries.
