An e-fit has been released of a man the police would like to speak to in relation to a sexual assault on a 27-year-old woman.

The attack happened on September 27 at approximately 10.30am, when the victim, who was jogging along Woolwich Common on the pathway that runs parallel to Academy Road was suddenly attacked by a man who pinned her to the floor.

She was able to free herself after injuring her attacker.

DC Clare Church of Plumstead CID said: “I strongly urge anyone who recognises the man in the e-fit or has any information to contact police as soon as possible.”

The suspect is described as a black man, five feet eight inches tall and stocky, with a highly groomed and distinctive beard.

At the time of the incident he was wearing a flat cap, a light-coloured cotton jacket, a blue and red cardigan and a pair of grey jeans.
