TO celebrate World Poetry Day on March 21, the Bexley Times has teamed up with Erith Riverside Shopping Centre to give two lucky children the chance to win £250 for their school and £50 worth of vouchers to spend just by writing a poem.
The competition is simple and to make the judging process fair we have split the competition into two categories for primary school pupils and secondary school pupils.
To enter all you have to do is show off your writing skills by submitting a poem by March 16. The poem can be about whatever you like and it doesn't need to rhyme however it must not exceed 150 words.
Judges at the Bexley Times will choose their two favourite poems - one from each age category. The winning poets will then receive £250 for their school. In addition to this fabulous prize the pupils' poems will be printed in a future edition of the paper and they will also receive £50 to spend on whatever they like at Erith Riverside.
To enter, send your poem by March 16 to Kate Mead, World Poetry Day Competition, Bexley Times, Roxby House, 20-22 Station Road, Sidcup, Kent, DA15 7EJ.
The winners will be required to attend a presentation on Friday, March 20 at Erith Riverside Shopping Centre.
