Families went for a dip as they enjoyed a Finding Nemo-inspired fun day at Foots Cray Meadows yesterday (May 30).

The day was designed to celebrate the release of Finding Nemo 3D on DVD while educating them about the need to protect rivers, the wildlife in them and keeping them clean.

It was organised by environmental charity Thames 21 in conjunction with Disney and some of the activities included rock painting, river dipping and mini-raft racing.

Marketing officer Emily Braham said: “It was really successful, there were about 30 kids in total.

“We were slightly worried about the weather but a lot of the children stayed for the whole four hour slot.

“It’s good for kids to know the importance of protecting their rivers and what’s in them and we’ll definitely look to do something like this again.”
